Want a seat at our table? Ziosk is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead development efforts across our payments and loyalty platforms integration team. In this role, you’ll guide a team of developers and collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive system integrations and establish scalable integration frameworks that support a growing ecosystem of POS and loyalty plugins. This role blends technical leadership, managing and developing software engineers, hands-on development, and agile project management. You’ll be instrumental in shaping how our integrations are designed, built, and delivered. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with attention to detail and the ability to establish and manage priorities in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment to meet commitments. Additionally, you’ll have a proven track record in a supervisory role attracting, developing, coaching, inspiring, and retaining software engineers.
The Main Course – Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, Core API and C# services that power business-critical functionality.
- Lead development of a unified API interface layer, ensuring consistency, extensibility, and ease of integration across internal and third-party systems.
- Define and evolve core API patterns, versioning strategies, and governance to support long-term platform scalability.
- Adapt and extend the API framework to support evolving business requirements and unlock new capabilities.
- Guide integration efforts with external systems (e.g., POS, payment gateways, loyalty platforms), ensuring robust API contracts and minimal integration friction.
- Improve onboarding and developer experience by delivering comprehensive API documentation, integration playbooks, and usage guidelines.
- Proactively identify and resolve production issues related to API performance, stability, and downstream dependencies.
- Champion API-first development practices and establish engineering standards for reusable service interfaces and internal SDKs.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and cross-functional teams to define API requirements, validate technical feasibility, and deliver scalable solutions.
- Lead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives) and oversee backlog prioritization to align with API roadmap and business goals.
- Drive operational visibility through improved reporting and automation related to platform health, developer productivity, and integration metrics.
What You Bring To The Table – Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional experience in software development, including 2+ years in a technical leadership or project management capacity.
- Strong C# development background, with experience in .NET environments.
- Proven experience designing and building integrations with third-party APIs.
- Experience leading Agile/Scrum teams or managing sprint cycles.
- Familiarity with POS, payments, or loyalty platforms (highly preferred).
- Solid understanding of system architecture, RESTful API design, and integration best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
