Want a seat at our table? The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for driving quality assurance/quality control activities in a software development and releases to the current production environment, focusing on testing customer facing applications on Ziosk devices which includes back end and FE applications.
The Main Course – Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for Android firmware on mobile and embedded devices.
Conduct functional, regression, stability, performance, and stress testing on firmware builds.
Execute payment certification testing across a variety of payment gateways
Validate OTA (Over-the-Air) firmware updates and ensure backward/forward compatibility.
Collaborate with firmware developers to identify root causes and drive defect resolution.
Use Android debugging tools (ADB, logcat, fastboot) to capture logs and perform in-depth issue analysis.
Automate repetitive tests
Maintain test environments, including flashing firmware images, configuring test devices, and managing test labs.
Work closely with cross-functional teams (development, product, hardware) to meet release timelines and quality goals.
Document test results, file detailed bug reports in JIRA (or equivalent), and contribute to test reporting dashboards.
What You Bring to the Table – Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
2+ years of QA/test engineering experience with Android or embedded systems, including connectivity testing (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, 5G, GPS)
Proficient in Android tools (ADB, fastboot, logcat), Linux/Unix command line, and debugging tools like Wireshark and JIRA
Skilled in scripting (Python, Bash) and familiar with automation frameworks (Robot Framework, Appium) and CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of Android architecture, firmware lifecycle, and version control systems (Git)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
