About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Secured Lending Relationship Manager within Channel Finance to manage and support a portfolio of existing, highly complex secured lending relationships. This role partners closely with coverage, product, and risk teams to proactively assess client performance, manage credit risk, and lead modifications, renewals, and refinancings aligned to client needs and bank objectives. Serving as a trusted advisor, the Relationship Manager applies deep financial, industry, and credit expertise to deliver thoughtful solutions while navigating complex regulatory and market conditions. In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop or influence long-term goals for highly complex business and technical needs across Commercial Banking or Corporate & Investment Banking
  • May be assigned a contractual territory and responsible for managing partner relationships to ensure deal opportunities are directed to the business, in alignment with agreement terms
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with existing clients within their products or functional area, including sharing relevant information with coverage team partners
  • Independently review and analyze client portfolios, including highly complex scenarios, for key issues related to cash flow, liquidity, leverage, working capital, debt coverage, collateral or enterprise value analysis, and repayment sources, including for use in periodic reviews as well as interim underwriting memoranda
  • Partner with coverage teams within the context of individual deals and client relationships, to anticipate and understand clients’ businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions to identify opportunities for modifications, renewals, and refinancings
  • Lead modifications, renewals, and refinancings of varying complexity levels, including assessing a client’s financial position and risk level and acting as an advisor to leadership for highly complex situations for both prospective and existing clients
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges by synthesizing industry and economic trends, including complicated legal and regulatory issues, in addition to regular portfolio reviews to manage risk and lead problem loan resolutions, where applicable
  • Prepare for periodic exams by internal and external auditors
  • Strategically engage with all levels across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership to resolve client issues and achieve business objectives while leveraging a sound understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Partner with product management functional partners and other senior leaders to provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on evolving market needs to enable the innovation, design, and delivery of credit solutions more effectively, including large-scale, cross-functional, or companywide strategies


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of secured or specialized lending relationship management or portfolio management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education



Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of core bank products and the ability to effectively partner with product teams across areas such as Treasury Management, foreign exchange, and interest rate hedging
  • Experience supporting and managing term loan structures and complex credit facilities within a relationship or portfolio management context
  • Proven ability to build, manage, and sustain complex client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor across credit cycles
  • Advanced credit underwriting capabilities, including financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, enterprise value analysis, and risk evaluation
  • Working knowledge of syndicated lending environments, including coordination with internal partners and external lenders
  • Experience within Channel Finance or specialty finance platforms preferred, though not required


Job Expectations:

  • Travel up to 30%
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule (4 days in office a week)
  • Willingness to work on-site in one of the listed locations

Position is for the Channel Finance Enterprise PM team which reports to Ross Wardell (Denver). The team manages a portfolio comprised of borrowers who are publicly traded, PEG owned or leverage Capital Markets. Program structures include Channel Finance / ABL, unsecured and A/R Purchase.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

Salary is just one component of Wells Fargo's total rewards package. Depending on the role, a Wells Fargo's employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
