About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Executive Auto Partnerships Relationship Manager to serve as the primary relationship manager for strategic Auto Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Captive partners. This role is accountable to own, develop, and grow external OEM and Captive relationships across the U.S. auto landscape. Acting as the primary point of contact between Wells Fargo Auto and prospective clients.


In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the principal strategic advisor and execution lead for enterprise OEM and Captive growth strategies, independently shaping strategic priorities, growth theses, and long‑term value creation opportunities. Influence senior leaders and executive sponsors by providing expert analysis and recommendations that materially impact Consumer Lending and Auto business performance.
  • Act as the primary strategy lead and relationship manager for OEM and Captive partnerships, translating external partner strategies, market dynamics, and competitive intelligence into enterprise‑level strategic recommendations. Drive cross‑functional alignment and execution across product, risk, operations, finance, and technology within established governance frameworks and in partnership with accountable leaders.
  • Originate and influence go‑to‑market strategies through independent analysis of OEM market intelligence, competitive positioning, and client insights. Identify whitespace opportunities and structural growth levers, and recommend strategic actions that enable enterprise growth while balancing risk and regulatory considerations.
  • Lead end‑to‑end strategy development and execution for complex OEM and Captive initiatives. Operate with broad discretion to influence senior‑level stakeholders across large, multifunctional organizations, aligning partners around high‑impact strategic outcomes through expertise, judgment, and persuasion rather than formal authority.
  • Lead highly complex OEM engagements, including strategic relationship management and negotiation support, in collaboration with executive sponsors. Engage senior and executive‑level partner stakeholders to structure and sustain long‑term relationships, providing expert guidance and recommendations that support enterprise growth objectives and compliance with Wells Fargo risk and governance standards.


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Business Growth Strategy experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of direct auto OEM relationship experience, including ownership of senior-level OEM relationships and regular engagement with executive leadership
  • Auto industry experience, ideally across sales, relationship management, strategy and support, and originations teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience delivering effective presentations and communicating complex concepts in a manner that persuades, educates, and enhances understanding at all levels
  • Strong ability to navigate complex organizations and influence outcomes without formal authority
  • Experience acting as the external “face of the firm” with strategic partners
  • Strategic planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives enterprise-wide


Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 75%
  • Willingness to work on-site at one of the stated locations on the job opening.
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
