About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a COO AI COE Senior Lead Digital Product Manager – Strategy and Planning Lead to join the Chief Operating Office (COO) Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (AI COE). This Senior Lead role is a highly visible, enterprise-impact position accountable for defining and driving the strategic planning, governance, and execution oversight of Generative AI and Agentic AI initiatives across the firm.

As a senior individual contributor with broad organizational influence, this role will operate with a high degree of autonomy and decision-making authority. The Strategy and Planning Lead will partner closely with executive stakeholders, technology leaders, risk and control partners, and lines of business to shape AI product strategy, lead large-scale planning and design engagements, and ensure disciplined, compliant delivery aligned to Wells Fargo’s Responsible AI framework and risk management standards. This role plays a critical part in enabling scalable, secure, and ethical AI adoption by establishing strong execution models—including Big Room Planning, Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions, end-to-end testing strategies, and release trains—while ensuring alignment with enterprise governance, regulatory expectations, and control requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a Senior Lead product strategist and trusted advisor to executive leadership, influencing AI product direction, investment prioritization, and long-term roadmap decisions across the enterprise.

  • Own and drive enterprise-level strategy and planning for GenAI and Agentic AI initiatives, including Big Room Planning and Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions that align business, technology, data, and control stakeholders.

  • Establish and oversee end-to-end execution governance, ensuring AI initiatives are delivered through disciplined planning, testing, release, and lifecycle management processes.

  • Design and execute robust AI testing strategies, addressing functional, non-functional, model, integration, security, and risk-based testing requirements.

  • Build and manage release trains and delivery cadences that enable coordinated execution across multiple teams, platforms, and lines of business.

  • Embed Responsible AI principles into product design and delivery, ensuring transparency, fairness, explainability, data integrity, and appropriate human oversight.

  • Partner closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Control Management to ensure AI solutions adhere to enterprise AI governance frameworks, regulatory standards, and internal policies.

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve highly complex, ambiguous challenges that span products, technologies, and organizational boundaries.

  • Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into clear product strategies, operating models, and execution plans.

  • Provide expert guidance and thought leadership on AI product management, delivery best practices, and emerging AI execution models.

  • Influence, coach, and mentor peers and product teams, setting standards for excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement consistent with Senior Lead expectations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of digital product management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience leading enterprise-scale digital product initiatives, with demonstrated accountability for strategy, planning, and execution.

  • Strong experience delivering Generative AI and/or Agentic AI solutions, preferably within large, highly regulated environments.

  • Proven success leading Big Room Planning and Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions involving senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

  • Experience establishing release trains and execution governance models for complex, multi-team digital or AI capabilities.

  • Deep understanding of AI lifecycle management, including testing strategies, deployment controls, monitoring, and post-release optimization.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Responsible AI concepts, AI governance, and risk management practices (e.g., model risk, data controls, fairness, explainability).

  • Strong executive communication and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate matrixed organizations and drive alignment without direct authority.

  • Experience partnering with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Control functions to deliver compliant, well-governed technology solutions.

  • Ability to operate independently, set direction, and make sound judgments consistent with Senior Lead individual contributor accountability.

  • Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, or other scaled delivery methodologies in an enterprise environment.
