About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Public Cloud FinOps Leader to lead financial governance, cost optimization, and unit‑economics transparency across our Azure and Google Cloud environments. This role sits at the intersection of cloud engineering, finance, and risk, and is critical to ensuring cloud spend is predictable, optimized, and audit‑defensible in a banking environment.
You will partner closely with Cloud Platform, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, and Risk teams to establish FinOps best practices, drive measurable savings, and enable informed decision‑making for cloud investments.
This role is hands‑on and strategic: you will design FinOps mechanisms, build reporting and controls, influence architecture decisions, and communicate clearly with senior technology and finance leadership.
In this role, you will:
Work as an advisor to more experienced leadership to influence technology matters to develop programs that are effective and efficient for highly complex business and technical needs across one or more lines of business
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in depth evaluation across multiple lines of business or the enterprise
Deliver solutions that are long term, large scale, and which require understanding of organizational goals or priorities and technology to develop executable strategies and plans
Provide vision, direction, and expertise to more experienced leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions related to technology matters that are large scale, cross functional, or companywide
Engage with the technology team and more experienced leaders to provide support and drive strategic initiatives for the business and for execution of operational processes
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Information Technology in support of Business Services experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following work experience, training, military experience, education
7+ years of experience working knowledge of cloud technology, cloud financial management, or FinOps
Desired Qualifications:
Deep hands‑on experience with Azure and Google Cloud Platform
Strong understanding of: Azure Reservations, Savings Plans, GCP Committed Use Discounts (CUDs) and Cloud pricing models, billing mechanics, and usage metering
Proven experience operating in regulated or large enterprise environments (banking, financial services, insurance, or similar)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to work directly with large cost and usage datasets
Experience building executive‑level dashboards and financial narratives
Ability to influence without authority across engineering, finance, and leadership teams
Strong understanding of Cloud Billing and Invoicing as well as how to optimize costs
FinOps Certified Professional (or equivalent experience)
Experience supporting multi‑cloud environments at scale
Familiarity with: Capitalization and accounting considerations for cloud spend and Internal audit and regulatory review processes
Experience integrating FinOps data into enterprise BI platforms
Background in platform engineering, SRE, or cloud architecture
Working knowledge of Cloud ability

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$139,000.00 - $260,000.00Benefits
