Principal Engineer and Product Owner for Database Security Platform and Infrastructure Engineering

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer for the Database Security Platform and Infrastructure Engineering product area.
About this role:
This critical role will ensure delivery of complex solutions in the Database Technology product generally, and in the planned Database Security Platform and Infrastructure Engineering product area specifically. Doing so will combine a unique need for both significant technical acumen specific to database security platforms and their automation, self-service capabilities, and integration with enterprise solutions with strong communication and leadership skills necessary to deliver complex solutions in partnership with enterprise teams under the highest level of scrutiny and visibility.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with engineering managers, other principal engineers, and architects to ensure delivery of complex solutions of the highest criticality
- Work directly with executive level partners and their delegates, driving dialog to obtain mutually beneficial outcomes in the best interest of Wells Fargo.
- Drive strategy in the database technology space, including facilitating the enterprise database strategy forum as needed, ensuring authors in the database security areas are covering their strategy topics in a manner well aligned to the overall strategy, and authoring one of more strategy topics within the enterprise database strategy themselves.
- Develop solution designs for complex technical topics for any relevant strategic database security platforms (Guardium UC, Guardium STAP, Delphix Continuous Compliance), and the platform with which they integrate (Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Yugabyte, EnterpriseDB, or Neo4J), for their control planes, or for delivering improved automation, self-service, or enterprise integration for those platforms.
- Review technical solution designs with partner teams, obtain their feedback and concurrence, follow procedures for formal publication of design work.
- Assist in developing and maintaining the annual database technology book of work
- Partner with engineering managers to align a capacity-demand model to the book of work, ensuring that adequate resources exist in delivery teams to deliver committed epics and features
- Author proposed epics and milestones for review, approval, and inclusion in the book of work
- Partner with other principal engineers to author technical features to deliver on committed epics and milestones
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 7+ years of experience with at least one of Oracle, SQL Server, or MongoDB
Desired Qualifications:
- 7+ years leading complex technical assignments in the database space from design to implementation
- Experience with two or more of Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Enterprise DB, Yugabyte, or Neo4J
- Experience with database activity monitoring and data masking solutions generally, and IBM Guardium or Delphix Continuous Compliance specifically
- Demonstrable experience leading through influence in a matrixed model
- Experience with agile / product processes, advocating for customer requirements with engineering teams
Job Expectations:
- Travel within the domestic United States up to 10%
