Wells Fargo’s Financial Crimes and Regulatory Operations Technology (FCROT) team is seeking an Automation-Focused QA Lead / SDET Lead to drive quality engineering excellence across enterprise-scale, cloud-native platforms.

The team delivers platforms and solutions that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Financial Crimes and Regulatory Operations, including AML, Fraud, and KYC. This role focuses on automation-first test engineering, BDD/TDD practices, and end-to-end quality across microservices architectures.
In this role, you will
• Lead quality engineering and automation strategy for enterprise-scale applications.
• Drive BDD using Cucumber and Gherkin with product and engineering teams.
• Build and maintain automated test suites for component, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Implement UI automation using Selenium or equivalent tool.
• Perform microservices and API automation testing.
• Embed TDD and shift-left testing practices.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor SDETs and QA engineers and lead defect triage.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
• Support complex engineering initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
• Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively.
• Leverage your understanding of industry best practices and new technologies to influence and mentor other technology teams to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
• Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost.
• Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
• Work in a globally distributed team to provide innovative and robust Cloud centric solutions.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering / SDET roles.
• Strong hands-on automation experience.
• Experience with Cucumber, Gherkin, BDD, and TDD.
• Selenium UI automation experience.
• Microservices and API testing using Postman.
• Component and end-to-end testing expertise.
• CI/CD integration experience.
• Cloud testing experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience working in Kubernetes environment
• Experience in performance testing automation
Desired Qualifications
• Enterprise-scale automation leadership experience.
• Financial services or regulated industry experience.
• Performance, security, and resiliency testing knowledge.
• AML, Fraud, or KYC domain experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Hands on java/python experience
