About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a detail oriented and proactive Loan Servicing and Operations Specialist to support our Commercial Banking team with bilateral loan transactions.
This role is responsible for the end-to-end servicing of commercial loans, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of operational processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with LoanIQ and a strong understanding of commercial lending operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end servicing of bilateral commercial loans, including payments, rate resets, clearing exceptions, reconciliations, and complex research requests.
- Maintain and update loan records in LoanIQ, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Process loan transactions such as drawdowns, rollovers, repayments, and fee accruals.
- Reconcile loan balances and resolve discrepancies with internal teams and external counterparties.
- Collaborate with credit, legal, and relationship management teams to ensure accurate documentation and servicing.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk.
In this role, you will:
Lead a variety of servicing activities for moderately complex commercial products, including coordinating all aspects to ensure customer resolution
Evaluate and upload data into the systems of record to ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Coordinate all aspects of resolving open customer service issues; interact with internal and external customers
Serve as primary liaison and work collaboratively with Sales, Legal, Control and Risk, Technology, and various Operations and company teams as necessary to progress customer-focused needs
Review and negotiate moderately complex loan servicing transactions, evaluate risks, and devise strategies to mitigate risks and identify procedural modifications
Serve as an escalation point in the resolution of client issues
Conduct quality reviews and monitor key performance metrics as related to efficiencies and effective processes
Identify activities of the team to ensure conformity with established procedures
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
May lead projects, teams, or serve as a mentor for lower-level staff; may contribute to strategic initiatives
Independently resolve moderately complex issues and lead team to meet deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Commercial Loan Servicing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
3 years of hands-on experience using LoanIQ
Strong understanding of bilateral loan structures and servicing requirements.
Proficiency in LoanIQ, workflow tools, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Familiarity with bilateral commercial loans
Experience with workflow tools or automation platforms.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to commercial lending (e.g., SOX, OCC guidelines).
