About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer to support Regulatory Operations within the Shared Services Operations group. The role will focus on the execution of core control management programs and priorities, such as issues management, risk, and control self-assessments (RCSA), control development and optimization, risk measurement, ongoing governance routines, and support of ongoing transformation work.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact

  • Act as key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management functional area

  • Monitor moderately complex business specific programs, and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies

  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group or functional area

  • Develop and implement risk monitoring and risk reporting processes and controls

  • Collaborate with relevant business group to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in developing and implementing risk-mitigating strategies

  • Lead Control Management project or virtual teams


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience supporting the Issue Management Lifecycle, including intake, monitor, classification, root cause analysis, corrective action planning, sustainability and validation.

  • 4+ years of experience identifying, assessing, evaluating, and documenting controls, control procedures and control gaps, to mitigate and support operational and compliance risk

  • 4 + years of experience conducting comprehensive Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA), including risk identification, evaluating, and designing controls, performing impact assessments, identifying control gaps, and implementing effective risk remediation strategies

  • Preferred experience in audit, regulatory compliance, operational risk, or risk management, or a combination, within the banking or financial services industry

  • Ability to be flexible, work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize work, take initiative, meet deadlines, achieve goals, work under pressure, adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs in a large, structured enterprise environment

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
