Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Banker / Relationship Manager to support the Commercial Bank in its Middle Market Oil and Gas Division. Learn more about the career areas and business divisions at wellsfargojobs.com.


In this role, you will:

  • Serve as an expert advisor to lead highly complex Oil and Gas financings, including Reserve Based Loans and Lines for upstream clients and cash flow based loans and lines for midstream companies.
  • Lead the sourcing, underwriting and portfolio management of new Commercial Banking clients, by cultivating relationships through your existing network with both companies and select middle market Oil and Gas sponsors.
  • Provide for the full suite of solutions offered by Wells Fargo to select Middle Market Oil and Gas companies to meet the most complex and significant needs across multiple areas of the enterprise that may require an in-depth evaluation, by engaging product organizations to develop client specific solutions, leveraging a solid understanding of clients’ businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions; may coordinate highly complex activities and resolutions.
  • Provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise regarding company wide strategies that significantly influence the organization's business and financial operations
  • Strategically lead all levels across the enterprise to improve processes and risk control, resolve client issues while achieving Wells Fargo’s business objectives, and represent the company externally; serve as an expert advisor to leadership, represent the company externally as an expert and act as a mentor for less experienced colleagues
  • Review, understand and offer the full suite of solutions offered by Wells Fargo to commercial clients to meet the most complex needs that may require an in-depth evaluation, by engaging product organizations to develop client specific solutions, leveraging a solid understanding of clients’ businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions


Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Mid-Corporate Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge, understanding and experience in the Oil and Gas industry including: upstream reserve based lending, midstream lending as well as other core banking products and services, such as commodity hedging and treasury management
  • Successfully completed FINRA Series 63 and 79 exams to qualify for immediate registration (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • Completion of formal credit training program
  • Commercial/Corporate banking account relationship management experience
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively to deliver the organization to clients and prospects
  • Demonstrated experience generating new client relationships, building and retaining long-term client relationships
  • Experience identifying and mitigating risk, ensuring compliance with processes and procedures
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills


Job Expectations:

  • US only: Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. FINRA Series 63 and 79 examinations, or equivalent must be completed within either a 90 or 180-day time period following commencement of employment, depending upon the number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance. Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory. In addition to state registration and licensing requirements, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance. For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite is required
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule

  • This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to compliance with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents
  • These positions will ultimately be housed within Specialized Industries
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time
