About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Senior Lead Data Analyst in the Commercial Banking and Lending Data Domain’s Data Integration & Distribution team to lead the maturation and simplification of our data products and act as the data liaison to the Finance Data Domain.

This position will also partner closely with Product Owners, Application Business Owners, and Technology Development Groups from multiple areas to effectuate business group’s offensive and defensive use-case data needs for commercial loan data by translating these needs into data requirements that result in usable data available in an approved data source. You will be responsible for analysis of datasets, how they should integrate, and provide validation for fit for use.

The role contributes to driving value to the business by creating, maintaining, or enhancing commercial loan datasets that are fit for purpose.


In this role, you will:

  • Function in a hybrid agile environment partnering with business and technology teams across Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking
  • Be very hands-on with SQL to profile data and analyze and join disparate datasets from various sources and technology stacks.
  • Support the production processing of our Financial Regulatory Reporting obligations with primary focus on 14QH1/H2.
  • Partner with Finance data leaders to understand the data product consumption needs and priorities, define and drive the ADS backlog, and work with deliver teams to meet these needs.
  • Develop strategies to simplify the data environment and data flows. Strategies could include how to leverage Gen AI or data mesh and data fabric frameworks.
  • Lead and drive forums with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Create communication routines with stakeholders, business partners, and management.
  • Provides leadership to other consultants and analysts in the integration/implementation of programs/services/initiatives with cross functional business partners, recognizing the significance of competing priorities and strategies, and adjusting as necessary
  • Lead complex strategic initiatives, including those that are cross-functional with broad impact, and act as key participant in large-scale planning driving data enablement and capabilities across platforms and utilities
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of data, analytics, and integration needs of line of business partners to inform prioritization, roadmap, and architecture design, that influence and lead broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Drive LOB priorities to deliver multiple complex large-scale projects and partnering with multiple stakeholders including Technology, Risk, Finance and compliance, etc. This role delivery includes requirements, analysis, research, coding, data quality, execution and coordination (business/technology teams), stakeholder communication, and deployment.
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to ensure data product solutions are built for optimal performance and design analytics applications across multiple platforms, resolve data product issues, and achieve goals; may lead projects, teams or serve as a peer mentor
  • Provide strategic input on new use case intake, prioritization, product roadmap definition, and other critical business processes

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of Commercial Banking experience
  • 5+ years of SQL and data management experience
  • 3+ years supporting Finance and Financial Regulatory use-cases 14QH1/H2 experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA) Financial Service Data Foundation (FSDF)
  • Ability to drive the requirements process with both technical and business partners
  • Knowledge and understanding of data governance challenges and approaches: metadata, data quality, and data stewardship
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial banking: products, platforms, policies, processes, and procedures
  • Techno-functional skills with exposure to various banking products
  • Experience with designing a semantic layer or data pipelines for AIML, GenAI
  • Understanding of data integration, curation, and delivery approaches using semantic layers, API’s and data virtualization
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation creation, and delivery skills
  • Communications are timely, concise, easy to follow, and tailored to topic, audience, and competing priorities
  • Exercises excellent judgement, discerning appropriate moments to challenge or insert point of view
  • Presentations tell a compelling story and influences action
  • Asks the next level questions, applies context to determine action

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$120,400.00 - $250,000.00
