JOB SUMMARY
Vaco Technology is currently seeking a Tech Writer for a 5M Contract opportunity that is remote-based. The Tech Writer will define and own the end-to-end documentation strategy for new network technologies, including standards, workflows, and governance frameworks.
  • Create / Maintain Technical Documents – SOPs / User Guides / Installation Manuals / Tech Specs / Network Diagrams / Training Materials
  • Develop High-Quality Content Supporting Operation Activities – Deployments / Upgrades / DR Procedures
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Network Architect / Engineers / Operations Teams / Project Managers to Collect / Validate Technical Information
  • Conduct Interviews / Observe System Development and Operational Activities – Ensuring Accuracy / Completeness
  • Organize / Maintain Documentation Repositories – SharePoint / Confluence / Internal Knowledge-base Systems with Proper Version Control / Accessibility
  • Edit / Proofread Content for Clarity / Consistency / Adherence to Style Guides
  • Translate Complex Technical Concepts into Clear / User-Friendly Content for Diverse Audiences
  • Create Diagrams / Flowcharts / Visuals – Enhancing Overall Comprehension
  • Partner with Engineering / Operations Teams – Reviewing Documentation for Accuracy / Consistency
  • Drive Continuous Improvement of Documentation Processes / Tools / Standards
  • Innovate to Enhance Customer Operational Experience / Knowledge Management Practices
  • Strong Organizational Skills and Ability to Manage Multiple Projects Independently

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Tech Writer (3 years) – Complex Network Technologies Focus
  • Documentation Strategy Ownership – Defining / Owning the End-to-End Documentation Strategy for New / Complex Network Technologies | Defining Standards / Workflows / Governance Frameworks
  • Documentation Tools / Platforms (proficiency) – Confluence / SharePoint / Visio / Adobe, etc.
  • Program Leadership – Proven Track Record of Leading Documentation Initiatives From Inception to Deployment | Stakeholder Alignment / Risk Assessment / Iterative Improvements in Knowledge Management Systems
  • Network Technologies / Architectures (strong understanding) – SDN / 5G / 6G / Cloud Networking / IoT Integrations / Edge Computing
  • Standards / Compliance Frameworks (knowledge) – ISO 9001 / ITIL / NIST / IEEE 802 | Incorporating into Documentation Governance
  • Workflow Design / Process Optimization (expertise) - Mapping Workflows (BPMN / Integration) with Systems (JIRA / ServiceNow)
  • Establishing Documentation Governance (proficiency) – Access Controls / Audit Trails / Approval Processes | Utilizing Version Control Systems (GIT / Docs-as-Code)
  • Analytical / Problem-Solving Skills – Identifying Documentation Gaps / Analyze Operational Needs / Innovate Solutions (AI-Assisted Tools / Automated Workflows)

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
