Sr. Accounting Manager
Dallas, TX – hybrid, 3 days onsite
Compensation: $135-145K Bonus
One of Vaco’s fast-growing private equity–backed partners is looking to onboard a Sr. Accounting Manager for their Dallas office. This role will oversee the general ledger and operational accounting functions, lead a team of 2–3, and play a key role in building scalable processes as the company continues its rapid growth (20% YOY with recent acquisitions).
This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the Controller, with close exposure to the CFO and leadership team. The company offers a “no red tape” environment where you can make an immediate impact, gain exposure to private equity, and grow into future leadership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the general ledger and all operational accounting, including month/quarter/year-end close.

Manage fixed assets, intercompany transactions/eliminations, and foreign currency transactions.

Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.

Support external audit and tax requirements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Partner with the Controller to strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and SOPs.

Manage, mentor, and develop a small team while ensuring accountability and professional growth.

Collaborate with leadership to support acquisitions, system implementations, and integration efforts.
Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Master’s preferred (not required).

7 years of progressive accounting experience, including team management.

Public accounting foundation strongly preferred.

Experience in small to mid-size companies ($30M–$100M revenue) required; exposure to inventory or multi-entity environments a plus.

Prior experience in private equity–backed businesses preferred.

Proven ability to improve processes, implement controls, and build SOPs.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
