The University of Texas at Dallas has an excellent job opportunity for individuals looking to join our team as a Software Specialist I in the Jindal School of Management (JSOM).

Prepares new desktops and laptops for deployment by applying the standard JSOM image to them as they are received. Assist staff and faculty with data migration from old devices. Troubleshoot wireless network connectivity problems on Windows and Apple laptops and tablets as well as, Android and IOS devices. Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent IT certifications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist JSOM staff and faculty with desktops, laptops, applications, and related technology.
  • Provide support by troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Resolve issues or assign tickets as necessary.
  • Answer support calls for assistance with AV Podiums in classrooms.
  • Assist in the daily operations of the JSOM Technology and Facilities department as necessary.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Sitting for extended periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components. Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as servers, switches, computers, and peripherals.
