| Job Summary | The Integrative Laryngeal BioPhysiology Lab (UT Larynx Lab) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow with expertise in biomedical engineering, signal processing, and big data analysis. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to active NIH-funded research programs focused on the use of motion capture technology to investigate perilaryngeal–respiratory kinematic patterns and coordinative relationships in individuals with and without functional voice disorders, including primary muscle tension dysphonia. Additionally, the role involves advanced research using high-density surface electromyography (HD-sEMG) and electroencephalography (EEG) to examine perilaryngeal motor unit neural control and corticomuscular integration in hyperfunctional voice disorders. The lab operates within a collaborative environment spanning The University of Texas at Dallas and UT Southwestern Medical Center. The salary for Post-Doctoral Research Associates in BBS is determined by years of experience per the current NIH (NRSA) stipend levels. Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications. This appointment is for 1 year with the possibility of renewal. Continued employment is contingent on availability of funds and satisfactory performance. |
| Minimum Education and Experience | Ph.D in a related field. Candidates who have successfully completed all requirements for the Ph.D. but whose degree has not yet been formally conferred may be eligible to begin employment provided they submit an official letter from the Registrar or Graduate School of the degree-granting institution certifying that all doctoral requirements have been satisfied and specifying the expected date of conferral. Appointment and continued employment are contingent upon formal conferral of the Ph.D. |
