| Job Summary | The Library Assistant III – Swing Shift plays a critical role in maintaining continuity between day and evening operations at the Eugene McDermott Library. This position covers the swing shift, and the employee may choose between two scheduling options:
Please note that shift hours and schedules may change based on departmental needs, holiday hours, university closures, summer sessions, or intersession adjustments. As the key staff member bridging daytime and nighttime activity, the swing shift assistant helps manage transitions in staffing, student worker hand-offs, and evening building activity. This role is especially vital during peak afternoon and evening hours and includes monitoring the library’s security gates to ensure appropriate access and adherence to building policies. |
| Minimum Education and Experience | High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a library setting; or any comparable combination of education and practical experience may be considered. |
