Job Summary
The Program Manager, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE) Specialty Programs at the Jindal School of Management (JSOM), plays a key role in supporting and advancing the academic and professional development of future entrepreneurs.

In this fast-paced and collaborative role, the Program Manager (PM) works closely with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE) Program Director to coordinate and support entrepreneurship specialty programs, including the Startup Founders Award, which is awarded each semester to student startup founders across the UTD campus. The IE Program Manager (IEPM) is responsible for enhancing the overall experience of undergraduate and graduate students participating in IE specialty programs.

Responsibilities include:
  • Advertising and recruiting students for IE specialty programs.
  • Developing communication strategies and progression-tracking systems to support student engagement.
  • Monitoring student milestones and overall program progression.
  • Coordinating mentor assignments and facilitating industry networking opportunities.
  • Planning and supporting social and professional events.
  • Assessing marketing effectiveness and program outreach.
  • Tracking Institute program participation and student involvement.
  • Collaborating with faculty and industry advisors to support program delivery.
  • Performing other related duties in support of IE specialty programs.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree; Three to five years experience in a field relevant to the program; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience working in education; higher education experience preferred.
  • Program management or operations experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
  • Strong verbal and written communication, time management, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for creating managerial reports and managing multiple academic projects.
  • Analytical, results-driven mindset with adaptability in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholder groups.

Student Engagement
  • Participate in prospective student recruitment events and orientation programs.
  • Provide clear and accurate information regarding IE specialty programs, including program requirements and expectations.
  • Organize and facilitate information sessions to support recruitment efforts and strengthen student communication and engagement.
  • Develop, coordinate, and support student-focused events related to entrepreneurship, including guest lectures, panel discussions, mentorship programs, and community-building activities, in collaboration with the Institute for IE team.
  • Assist with supervising and engaging IE student organizations and coordinate activities of program ambassadors supporting IE specialty programs.
Other Duties
  • Track, monitor, and report key program metrics, including admissions, retention, program participation, startup progress, and industry engagement.
  • Support program content creation and distribution efforts across multiple platforms.
  • Conduct presentations and public speaking engagements to promote programs to students and campus or external organizations.
  • Assist with social media calendar development and execution, including posting cadence.
  • Support general program marketing efforts across campus, within the local community, and through national outlets.
  • Develop student success stories and marketing materials highlighting specialty program participants.
  • Provide support to the OSIM department and Dean’s Office with program-related reports, initiatives, and special projects, as needed.
