| Job Summary | Join the Institutional Risk and Safety Programs department as a Fire & Life Safety Technician and take an active role in keeping our campus safe! In this position, you will perform ongoing and preventive maintenance to ensure the proper operation of a wide range of fire protection systems and equipment, including fire sprinklers, standpipe systems, fire pumps, kitchen hood systems, special hazard systems, fire extinguishers, and fire alarm systems. You will collaborate closely with the Fire & Life Safety team to support annual certifications, inspections, fire drills, fire safety audits, and training programs, as well as assist with related administrative responsibilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others are essential. This role provides the opportunity to build meaningful professional relationships across campus with faculty, staff, students, and University support personnel while actively promoting a strong culture of safety.
