Job Summary
The Associate Director in the Jindal School of Management (JSOM) Career Management Center (CMC) plays a key leadership role in supporting the career success of Full-Time MBA students. This position is dedicated to connecting exceptional MBA talent with top employers, developing innovative networking opportunities, and cultivating strong corporate partnerships that enhance both student outcomes and JSOM’s reputation for excellence.

Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Associate Director will design and deliver impactful career programming, expand employer engagement, and help shape the professional journeys of future business leaders.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of the Career Management Center and based in the JSOM CMC, this role also provides leadership and guidance to the MBA Assistant Director, MBA Career Readiness Team (CRT), and MBA Coaches.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 5-7 years related professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Preferred corporate experience with broad business knowledge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge of career development, career counseling, job search strategies, job market trends, employer relations, and contemporary recruitment methodologies to support student career success.
  • Utilize understanding of corporate recruiting cycles and talent management to strengthen employer partnerships and improve hiring outcomes.
  • Leverage experience in Corporate, HR, or Recruiting environments to develop and implement effective career programming and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to a wide range of individuals and groups with professionalism and commitment.
Specific Responsibilities Include
  • Work with the Assistant Dean of CMC to expand the number of companies collaborating with UT Dallas on specific MBA hiring programs, including creating and ranking company lists.
  • Partner with the Assistant Dean of CMC to manage the CMC’s monthly, semester, and yearly KPIs and metrics, including salary and placement data for MBA students and annual surveys.
  • Drive growth in the number of companies hiring MBA students.
  • Collaborate closely with the MBA Assistant Director, MBA Career Readiness Team (CRT), and Coaches.
  • Create, develop, and oversee workshops, coffee chats, industry panels, lunch-and-learns, site visits, and professional events with employers for Full-Time MBA (FTMBA) students each semester.
  • Understand employer needs and proactively identify internship and full-time opportunities for FTMBA students.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with MBA hiring companies.
  • Engage in regular employer outreach through calls and meetings—a key component of this role.
  • Share FTMBA resumes with employers as appropriate.
  • Design and deliver events to educate groups on industry insights, job search techniques, and professionalism.
  • Participate fully in support of MBA Lead Camp (two-week FTMBA training held in August).
  • Track each student’s progress and communicate their status regarding internship and full-time job opportunities.
  • Monitor group placement percentages and salary data, comparing results to previous years and professional survey targets.
  • Collaborate with the MBA Team to identify opportunities with specific employers, ensure students are informed of available positions through the JSOM CMC, and confirm that CMC staff are recommending suitable candidates.
  • Provide direction and guidance to students as needed.
  • Assist students in refining resumes, LinkedIn profiles, cover letters, target company lists, and job search timelines to support the MBA Program Manager.
  • Advise students in determining career direction based on their goals, marketability, and current job market conditions.
  • Develop and deliver curriculum and presentations to educate groups on industry knowledge, job search strategies, and professionalism.
