Job Summary | The Research Technician I will join a growing research group dedicated to uncovering the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying chronic pain and substance use disorders. The successful candidate will contribute to a translational, high-impact, multidisciplinary projects that integrate molecular biology, neuroscience, pharmacology, and advanced imaging techniques. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge lab committed to scientific excellence, innovation, and collaboration. The Research Technician will play a key role in generating and analyzing data, maintaining experimental systems, and supporting day-to-day lab operations. Under the mentorship of the Principal Investigator and senior team members, the Research Technician will gain valuable technical and conceptual training, with potential for long-term professional development. We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who shares our vision of building a research program at the forefront of science and technology. Enthusiasm for research, a strong sense of responsibility, and a team-oriented mindset are essential. |
Minimum Education and Experience | Requires High School graduation or equivalent and six months of experience in scientific research work. Working knowledge of the various types of equipment in use in the laboratory to which assigned. Extreme accuracy in preparing materials and recording data. Normal laboratory conditions. Sometimes requires working with hazardous equipment and materials or in hazardous environments. |

Other Qualifications | To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. |

Additional Information | This position will be located in The Texas Instruments Biomedical Engineering and Sciences (BMES) Building at The University of Texas at Dallas. It’s a facility that supports the Bioengineering and Biomedical Sciences programs at UTD, particularly the collaboration with UT Southwestern Medical Center. 2336 Inwood Rd, Dallas, TX 75235.
