Job Summary | The Assistant Dean of Graduate Education will work closely with the Dean of Graduate Education and the Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Success to provide oversight and support for graduate education at the University of Texas at Dallas. The Assistant Dean of Graduate Education must show innovation and creativity in improving the quality of all aspects of graduate education and modernizing the Office of Graduate Education operations. The Assistant Dean must show leadership qualities and an ability to work well with faculty, staff, students, and the outside community. |
Minimum Education and Experience | Minimum of a Graduate degree in a discipline related to the job function; minimum of five years of management experience in an academic environment or equivalent corporate environment. If this position has direct instructional responsibilities it will require a doctorate degree. |
Preferred Education and Experience | The Assistant Dean of Graduate Education must have experience at the graduate level in the American higher education system. Excellent communication skills and managerial experience are necessary. |

Physical Demands and Working Conditions | Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. |

Additional Information | Preference may be given to Internal candidates Remote Notice: After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. May be required to use personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
