Job Summary | The Associate Vice President for Institutional Success and Decision Support (AsscVPISDS) reports to the Vice President and Chief of Staff and serves as key executive leader on matters related to policy, data, evaluation, and student and faculty success technology tools. Specifically, the AsscVPISDS leads the Office of Institutional Success and Decision Support (OISDS), which is an integrated institutional effectiveness office created in fall 2022 that oversees functions dedicated to institutional research; institutional analytics, state and federal data compliance reporting; data governance; the data warehouse reports; the CRM student success and alumni implementation stages and change management adoption functions; accreditation (including the possible transition of institutional accreditation); academic and administrative assessment; student survey collective; non-academic administrator evaluation support; university-wide policy development, review, best practices research, and policy impact analysis; a suite of web application technology process supports; legislative analysis; an in-house data literacy fellows program; and enrollment success support. The role is strongly connected to the Cabinet/Executive Leadership Team and to the Deans and academic units. The AsscVPISDS is the primary contact for the President, Cabinet/Executive Leadership Team, and Deans regarding data and the office’s functions. In particular, the AsscVPISDS will have a strong connection to the Office of the Provost, Office of Development and Alumni Relations, Office of Governmental Relations and Community Engagement, and Office of Student Affairs with renewed efforts to support data-informed decisions regarding curricular redesign, student and faculty retention, priorities for gifts and campaign programs, and legislative and community partner presentations. The AsscVPISDS may be asked to serve on several university committees and/or working groups, UT System task forces, particularly those involving OIRA and UT System Academic Affairs partnerships, and will serve as a member of the New Student Engagement Board, which is a university-board dedicated to the success of all first-time students at UT Dallas. About the Office: OISDS was created to leverage functions that, when merged, provide better services to the campus to improve the student experience with enhanced technical platforms for students, faculty, and staff; with improved data integrity and data agency so that academic units can better track student performance and post-graduation student outcomes; and with a philosophy of collaboration, transparency, and accountability. OISDS has thirty-four full-time employees and two part-time employees across five teams. |
Minimum Education and Experience | Master’s degree in relevant discipline. Eight (8) years of job-related experience in higher education. |
