Employment Immigration Specialist II: Reporting to the Director of Employment & Compensation in the Office of Human Resources, the Immigration Specialist II position works independently to assist with overseeing the University’s employment immigration program. The Immigration Specialist is responsible for filing employment immigration petitions and works directly with outside counsel on permanent residency requests. Employment Immigration Specialist II Position Information:
Employment Immigration Specialist I: Reporting to the Director of Employment & Compensation in the Office of Human Resources, this position will assist in overseeing the University’s employment immigration program. The Immigration Specialist I works under direct supervision and is responsible for filing employment immigration petitions. The role may involve working directly with outside counsel on permanent residency requests. This position will also assist with onboarding and transitional services for international TA/RA/GA (F-1) employees and the J-1 check-in process. Employment Immigration Specialist I Position Information:
Successful candidates will have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work both in a team and independently. Forward-thinking and creative, this candidate will work to develop and enhance current processes with the goal of creating a welcoming and stress-free environment for foreign nationals. Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. To be considered for this role, applicants must have at least 4 to 5 years of related experience, as outlined in the minimum qualifications section. At least 2 to 3 years of immigration experience is preferred. |
Minimum Education and Experience | HR Specialist II: Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years general human resources experience or administrative experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. HR Specialist I: Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years general human resources experience or administrative experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. |
