Job Summary | This position will assist in developing and supervising the faculty support functions of the Mechanical Engineering Department, and provides direction, support, training and mentoring to the other members of the ME Finance team. The position directs or oversees budgeting and expenditures from multiple funding agencies and sources including grants, projects, gifts, and endowments. |

Preferred Education and Experience | Preferred Qualifications 7-10 years of progressively responsible administrative operations and supervisory experience in higher education. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PeopleSoft |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities | Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reporting directly to the department Business Manager, the Business Administrator provides oversight of finance and operational matters. The position directs and oversees budgeting and expenditures for multiple funding agencies and sources including contracts, sponsored projects, gifts, and endowments. Serve as the team leader for departmental finance and operations. Will supervise administrative staff, provide training and, performance management, and act in an advisory capacity to leadership. This position is action-oriented and requires a high level of organizational and project management skills. Physical Demands and Working Conditions | Office Environment, working with supporting staff. Office Hours are M-F from 8am-5pm. May involve occasional lifting of boxes of documentation from 10-20 lbs ea. Daily use of keyboard and computers at desk. |

Additional Information | Remote Notice: After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. May be required to use personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
