Job Summary | The head softball coaching position is responsible for all administrative aspects of the program, including scheduling, recruiting, team management, budgeting, and the direction of UTD-identified athletic/sport camps. In addition, should represent the department and university in a professional and ethical manner. Employee agrees to abide by the Code of Ethics as set forth by the University of Texas at Dallas and the University of Texas System. Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems. Complies with all State and University policies. Must maintain a valid Texas driver’s license and annually pass the NCAA Coach’s Certification Exam. Team Management/Student-Athlete Development

Minimum Education and Experience | Bachelor’s Degree; previous coaching experience, preferably at a college level; knowledge and commitment to NCAA Division II rules. Two years coaching experience. |
Preferred Education and Experience | Master’s degree and 5-plus years head coaching experience, preferably at the NCAA Division I or II level. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities |

Physical Demands and Working Conditions | Expected to work extended hours, early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays during athletic seasons. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs., travel on a bus or in vans for an extended period of time, and must be able to stand on feet outside (if applicable) for a long period of time. Must be able to work on a team, and adjust to schedules that may change. |
