Job Summary
The O-RAN T&E Facility at UT Dallas is searching for Research Engineers to drive infrastructure development, management, and O-RAN Testing and Integration activities. UT Dallas O-RAN T&E Facility houses advanced facilities equipment and related resources for cutting-edge wireless network research and development. The Facility supports research in O-RAN RICs, interoperability, and performance tests, etc.,

The person hired for this position will: (i) Lead the management and evolution of the UT Dallas O-RAN T&E facility; (ii) Coordinate the integration and testing of commercial 5G/6G cellular equipment; and (iii) Participate in external activities such as conducting tutorials, demonstrations, publishing research work, and attending/participating in professional conferences.

Minimum Education and Experience

Ph.D in a related field.

Preferred Education and Experience
● Ph.D. in Computer and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent,
● Development experience with bash scripting, C++, and Python programming languages,
● Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment frameworks (CI/CD) such as Jenkins and Ansible, and with software-defined radios,
● Proficiency in O-RAN RICs and software development lifecycle management,
● Proficiency in NFV/SDN design, implementation, and testing,
● Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary environment across O-RAN, computer engineering, and networking systems domains.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

35% – Testcase preparation and automation of interoperability Open RAN testing,
15% – Coordination of the broader O-RAN T&E activities.
