Job Summary
The UT System Office of the CIO Team is seeking a creative, forward-thinking, and organized Marketing Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for promoting the department and brand awareness through the creation and production of communications/marketing materials, graphic design/web design, and outreach efforts including social media. Additionally, this position leads planning, organization, and facilitation of departmental events in collaboration with the administrative team.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or closely related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of digital marketing and social media experience
  • Two (2) or more years event/project planning experience
  • Must be exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge or direct experience with the UT System, UT System institutions and/or higher education institutions.
  • Ability to demonstrate self-initiative as well as to work well as a team.
  • Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
  • Experience scripting, filming, and editing videos. Audio editing experience.
  • Understanding of social media metrics; able to interpret the results and take action to increase effectiveness of social media campaigns
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify communications and marketing needs in collaboration with departmental leadership
  • Design and create appropriate content and materials (electronic, print, etc.) to meet department’s promotional needs
  • Design strategies to increase department’s visibility at all levels (local to national)
  • Collaborate with department staff to plan, organize, and execute events both within the department and in collaboration with outside entities
  • Collaborate with other departments to manage reputation, coordinate promotions, and increase outreach
  • Lead design and execution of department social media presence.
  • Compile performance metrics of social media posts and other communications.
  • Write, develop, and strategize online content production and scheduling
  • Provide customer service by answering questions and concerns when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Position location will be discussed during the interview process.
  • Hybrid remote work environment available. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required upon employment. Must have the ability to be on Richardson campus with 48 hours of notice.
