Job Summary
Serves as the first point of contact for library patrons and provides quality customer service at three high transaction library public service desks. Proficiently handles the circulation of library materials and delivery of library services to users. Provides information, assists users finding library materials and using the Library website and catalog. Answers patron account questions and other queries.
Minimum Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a library setting; or any comparable combination of education and practical experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform complex transactions at the library’s public service desks, including but not limited to checking out library materials and processing fine payments using specialized computer software. Assist with shelving, shifting and shelf-reading library materials. Maintain thorough knowledge of library and department policies and procedures. Assist customers by resolving queries and problems with respect, civility, professional courtesy, and composure. Perform related tasks, keep statistics and complete assigned projects.
Physical Activities
Working Conditions Other - Must be able to lift, carry, retrieve and replace materials that can weigh up to 15lbs. Must be able to remain in a standing or a seated position for extended periods of time while performing a variety of tasks.

Sunday – Thursday 2:00pm – 11:00pm
