Software Engineer III, Full Stack (.NET / Cloud)
Software Engineering
Southlake, TX, USA
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (Eligible to convert directly without visa sponsorship requirements)
Location: Southlake, TX | Austin, TX
About the Role
As a Software Engineer III, you will join an established engineering organization building mission-critical financial lifecycle and risk analytics platforms. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and scale robust software solutions using C# and the .NET ecosystem within a cloud-native enterprise environment.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver high-throughput REST APIs, modern web user interfaces, and resilient backend services. Additionally, you will champion modern software engineering standards—integrating approved AI-assisted developer tooling, automated workflows, and generative AI patterns responsibly to optimize code quality, testing rigor, and engineering velocity.
Responsibilities
- Application Development & Architecture: Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain resilient web interfaces, microservices, and RESTful APIs using C# and .NET frameworks within an enterprise architecture.
- Engineering Productivity & AI Innovation: Implement approved AI developer tools, prompt workflows, and AI-assisted engineering practices to streamline debugging, automated test authoring, code reviews, and technical documentation.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional Delivery: Partner closely with product management, enterprise architecture, security, and globally distributed engineering teams (onsite and offshore) to decompose functional requirements, design technical specifications, and deliver sprint commitments.
- System Reliability & Operational Excellence: Troubleshoot, profile, and resolve complex application and database issues in production; maintain high performance, uptime, and system reliability standards.
- Code Quality & Mentorship: Conduct comprehensive peer reviews, establish best practices around refactoring and code validation, and mentor junior engineers on clean architecture and responsible development practices.
- Risk & Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify technical debt, architecture bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities; define mitigation plans and drive continuous improvement across CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience building client-server and distributed enterprise applications using C# and .NET.
- 3+ years of experience with relational database systems, including advanced SQL, schema design, and query optimization in Microsoft SQL Server.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience designing, documenting, and integrating secure REST APIs.
- Experience developing frontend applications using a modern Single-Page Application (SPA) framework (e.g., Angular, React).
- Practical experience utilizing Git version control, branching strategies, and collaboration platforms (e.g., GitHub, Jira).
- Familiarity with modern AI engineering concepts, including AI coding assistants, prompt design, API integration, and responsible generative AI output verification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience designing and operating systems within the financial technology (FinTech), financial services, or risk management domains.
- Hands-on experience with major enterprise cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure) or cloud application platforms like VMware Tanzu / Cloud Foundry (PCF).
- Experience architecting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using tools such as Bamboo or Jenkins, supplemented with Python scripting for process automation.
- Experience with ETL processes, data migration patterns, and large-scale data manipulation (e.g., SSIS or cloud-native data pipelines).
- Understanding of enterprise AI application architectures, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), intelligent workflows, and data security/privacy controls for enterprise LLM integrations.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservice design patterns.
