About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to support the planning, design, and execution of multiple commercial construction projects. This role will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, design teams, contractors, and project leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in construction management, project controls, design coordination, stakeholder engagement, and construction safety while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate project feasibility assessments, including requirements gathering, scope development, risk identification, and recommendation preparation.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout design development and review phases.
- Monitor construction activities through site visits, progress reviews, quality assessments, and contractor coordination.
- Identify project risks, issues, and schedule impacts, and drive timely resolution.
- Maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, milestones, change logs, and action-item tracking.
- Support project controls activities and recommend corrective actions to address schedule or budget variances.
- Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders across operations, facilities, safety, security, IT, and project delivery teams.
- Prepare weekly project updates and executive-level reports summarizing project status, financial performance, risks, and critical decisions.
- Promote and monitor construction safety standards, reviewing safety plans and escalating unresolved concerns when necessary.
- Manage multiple projects and feasibility studies at various stages of development and construction.
- Utilize project management and construction technology platforms to maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in construction project delivery, construction engineering, project management, or related disciplines.
- Proven experience coordinating design development and overseeing construction execution.
- Strong ability to review and interpret construction drawings, schedules, scopes of work, and technical documentation.
- Extensive knowledge of construction safety practices, site hazard identification, and safety compliance requirements.
- Experience using:
- Bluebeam
- Microsoft Project
- Procore
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects within a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience serving as an Owner's Representative on commercial construction projects.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
- Experience managing projects through the complete project lifecycle, from feasibility through construction closeout.
- Additional engineering, project management, or construction-related certifications.
