Patient Care Coordinator
Location: Irving, TX
Hours: 8am to 5pm M-F

Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will serve as a primary point of contact for patients and providers, ensuring exceptional customer service while coordinating appointments, addressing inquiries, and supporting continuity of care. The ideal candidate will have prior healthcare experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls from patients and healthcare providers regarding appointments, scheduling needs, and general inquiries.
- Schedule, track, and manage patient appointments while ensuring all information is documented accurately and timely.
- Make outbound calls to patients for appointment reminders, follow-up care, and coordination of healthcare services.
- Collaborate with patients, providers, and pharmacies to facilitate care opportunities and resolve concerns.
- Route calls and patient inquiries to providers and clinical staff according to established protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of healthcare customer service, medical office, patient access, scheduling, or call center experience.
- Experience handling both inbound and outbound calls in a professional environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to document information accurately and efficiently.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to follow established workflows, policies, and escalation procedures.
- Proficiency with computers and the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred).
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, physician practice, hospital, clinic, or specialty office.
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proven ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
