Senior UX Designer

Location: 100% Remote (Must be aligned to Austin, TX; Lone Tree, CO; or Phoenix, AZ markets)

Duration: 12+-Month Contract

About the job:

• Great client experiences start with great people. We are looking for an experienced, collaborative, and adaptable Senior UX Designer to join the Digital Retail team within the broader User Experience organization. In this role, you will help shape digital product experiences that feel useful, consistent, modern, and distinct.
• This is an individual contributor role for a designer who is comfortable moving between the big picture and the smallest interaction details. You will independently lead work from problem definition through execution, bring clarity to ambiguity, and partner across Experience Design, Content, Product, Engineering, Research, and other cross-functional partners to turn complex challenges into scalable solutions across web and mobile.
• Client expectations are changing quickly, with mobile experiences, personalization, AI, and new interaction models reshaping engagement within financial services. You will help the firm respond thoughtfully by connecting client needs, business priorities, product strategy, and experience design into a clear and scalable vision for what comes next.

Responsibilities:

• Improve digital experiences through thoughtful interaction design, experience standards, and product execution.
• Translate client and business needs into scalable product experiences, interaction models, visual frameworks, and reusable patterns.
• Create future-state concepts and strategic design visions that help teams see and shape the long-term evolution of the digital ecosystem.
• Design and influence experiences across desktop, mobile web, and native mobile platforms while respecting the strengths and conventions of each platform.
• Define problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and propose solutions that balance client needs, business goals, experience quality, and technical considerations.
• Explore thoughtful applications of AI-enabled experiences, conversational interfaces, and emerging interaction models.
• Own the delivery of your work, proactively addressing challenges and keeping partners aligned from early exploration through engineering implementation.
• Facilitate design reviews, consultations, and workshops that improve the work and build shared understanding across disciplines.
• Act as a trusted advisor who can influence direction through strong rationale, storytelling, prototypes, and concrete examples.

Minimum qualifications:

• 6–10 years of UX design experience focused on digital products, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1+ years of UX experience specifically designing touch-based mobile interfaces.
• Experience executing the end-to-end user-centered design process, including research, user flows, wireframes, prototyping, testing, and iteration.
• Experience working within established design systems and product patterns.
• Proficiency with Figma or comparable product design tools.
• An online portfolio demonstrating design thinking and high-quality solutions. (Note: Must include a link to a digital portfolio of relevant work and any required passwords on the resume, specifically highlighting the problem solved, the role played, decisions made, and the impact of the work).

Preferred qualifications:

• Strong visual and interaction design skills, including layout, typography, hierarchy, color, and motion.
• Experience working with platform frameworks and standards, including iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design.
• Experience using AI-powered tools or workflows to support design, research, prototyping, or problem-solving.
• Proven ability to simplify problems that initially feel complex or ambiguous.
• Systems-level thinking with an understanding of when to use established patterns, when to adapt them, and when to challenge them.
• Demonstrated ability to lead without relying on authority, invite constructive feedback, and guide diverse cross-functional teams toward a shared outcome.
