Position: Okta SME
Location: Remote but able to be in Parsippany NJ on occasion
Duration: 3 month contract

Rate:- $100+

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Okta Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead and support Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with Okta administration, implementation, integrations, and security best practices across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Okta Identity and Access Management solutions.
  • Configure and support SSO, MFA, Lifecycle Management, and Universal Directory.
  • Integrate Okta with cloud, SaaS, and on-premise applications using SAML, OIDC, OAuth, and LDAP.
  • Partner with security, infrastructure, and application teams to enhance authentication and access controls.
  • Troubleshoot complex identity and access issues and drive resolution.
  • Develop governance, provisioning, and deprovisioning processes.
  • Provide guidance on IAM strategy, security compliance, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of IAM experience with 3+ years focused on Okta.
  • Strong expertise in Okta Workforce Identity Cloud.
  • Experience with SSO, MFA, Adaptive Authentication, Lifecycle Management, and API integrations.
  • Knowledge of SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), LDAP, and Active Directory.
  • Experience supporting cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Okta Certified Professional, Administrator, or Consultant certifications.
  • Experience with governance tools, PAM solutions, or broader IAM platforms.
  • Background in regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, or life sciences.

Ideal Candidate: Hands-on Okta expert who can serve as the technical lead for identity management initiatives while partnering closely with security and infrastructure teams on enterprise-wide access management strategies.
