Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C) Engineer with an M.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a related field. This role is focused on the analysis, design, verification, and validation of advanced GN&C algorithms and flight software for aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in flight dynamics, control systems, simulation development, and performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and analyze Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C) algorithms and flight software.
- Evaluate control, navigation, and guidance system performance through modeling, simulation, and analytical methods.
- Verify and validate GN&C algorithms, requirements, and system-level performance.
- Perform flight dynamics and trajectory dispersion analyses to assess system robustness and mission success.
- Develop and execute time-domain simulations, covariance analyses, and Monte Carlo simulations to evaluate and optimize system performance.
- Analyze simulation results and provide recommendations for algorithm improvements and system tuning.
- Generate technical documentation and communicate analysis findings to project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the system development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong expertise in MATLAB/Simulink, including:
- Bus Objects
- S-Functions
- Embedded MATLAB
- Deep understanding of GN&C algorithm development and simulation modeling techniques.
- Experience with flight dynamics, control systems, and closed-loop performance analysis.
- Knowledge of aircraft, spacecraft, and missile guidance and control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex simulation data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing covariance-based analyses and Monte Carlo simulations.
- Background in trajectory design, navigation filter development, or autonomous guidance systems.
- Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) practices and aerospace software development processes.
- Experience supporting the development of mission-critical aerospace or defense systems.
