Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Business & Commercial Operations Analyst to manage and optimize our software licensing portfolio. In this role, you will oversee software license compliance, vendor management, renewals, provisioning, and reporting activities while partnering with IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Operations teams.
You will help ensure licensing compliance, drive cost optimization initiatives, improve operational processes, and provide financial and business insights that support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
• Maintain an accurate inventory of software licenses and software assets across the organization.
• Monitor software usage to ensure compliance with licensing agreements and company policies.
• Conduct periodic license audits and prepare compliance reports for internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Track software entitlements, allocations, and usage trends to identify optimization opportunities.
• Coordinate software purchases, renewals, and upgrades with vendors and procurement teams.
• Track license expiration dates and proactively manage renewal activities.
• Analyze licensing costs and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
• Support vendor negotiations and contract reviews.
• Partner with IT support teams to provision software licenses for end users.
• Respond to licensing inquiries and resolve software activation or access issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation of license assignments and user entitlements.
• Oversee front-end business processes to ensure proper revenue and cost allocation.
• Analyze financial and operational performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations.
• Support forecasting, reporting, modeling, and pricing analysis activities.
• Evaluate financial trends impacting Managed Services offerings and licensing programs.
• Deliver monthly operational and financial performance reports.
• Develop and maintain process documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Assess the impact of new products and services and update procedures accordingly.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and business processes.
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams on software asset management and licensing best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, License Management, Commercial Operations, or a related field.
• Experience managing software licensing programs, renewals, compliance activities, and vendor relationships.
• Strong understanding of software licensing models, including subscription, perpetual, and concurrent licensing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• Experience using IT Asset Management tools such as ServiceNow, Flexera, or Lansweeper.
• Knowledge of SaaS environments and software provisioning processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• ITIL or Software Asset Management (SAM) certification.
• Experience working with enterprise software vendors such as Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, or Autodesk.
• Understanding of compliance frameworks, software audits, and governance processes.
• Experience supporting financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and pricing models.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and cost allocation practices.
