Information Security Engineer II (Insider Threat & Cybersecurity Operations)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Information Security Engineer II to help protect critical systems, data, and business operations through advanced security monitoring, insider threat detection, and incident investigation activities.

In this role, you will partner with cybersecurity teams, business stakeholders, and technology organizations to identify security risks, investigate suspicious activities, strengthen monitoring capabilities, and drive improvements across enterprise security programs. You will play a key role in designing and enhancing insider threat initiatives, data protection controls, and user behavior analytics while supporting a security-first culture throughout the organization.

What You'll Do

• Investigate transaction monitoring and security alerts from initiation through final disposition.
• Analyze user activity, transactional data, system logs, and publicly available information to identify potential insider threats and security risks.
• Conduct security investigations and document findings with clear, evidence-based conclusions.
• Design, implement, and improve Insider Threat and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) programs.
• Develop investigative workflows and improve detection effectiveness through User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA).
• Partner with business units to understand security requirements and operational challenges.
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical security solutions.
• Monitor and evaluate security tools, processes, and technology controls.
• Support incident response, threat detection, and security monitoring activities.
• Assist with system enhancements, implementation projects, and continuous process improvements.
• Participate in security awareness, education, and training initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Create detailed documentation, reports, and recommendations for stakeholders and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Operations, Insider Threat, Security Monitoring, Incident Response, or Information Security.
• Hands-on experience implementing or supporting Insider Threat Programs.
• Experience working with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies.
• Strong understanding of security investigations, alert triage, and case management.
• Experience with User Behavior Analytics (UBA/UEBA) platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, or ArcSight.
• Experience with EDR technologies such as CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, or Microsoft Defender.
• Knowledge of IAM/PAM solutions such as SailPoint, Okta, or CyberArk.
• Experience supporting regulatory compliance and risk management programs.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Background in banking, financial services, fraud investigations, AML, or transaction monitoring.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive security initiatives.
