Job Title: Cisco Voice Infrastructure Engineer

Duration: 12+ months (Contract)

Location: Remote

About the job:

As a Cisco Voice Infrastructure Engineer, you will design, implement, maintain, and optimize the underlying enterprise voice infrastructure supporting a large-scale contact-center environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring reliable, secure, and highly available voice connectivity across customers, carriers, Cisco Unified Communications infrastructure, and contact-center applications. Your work will directly impact core success measures, including voice platform availability, call completion rates, voice-quality scores, and overall telecom cost optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, support, and document enterprise Cisco voice architecture, ensuring resilient SIP and PSTN connectivity.
  • Configure and maintain CUCM, CUBE, SIP trunks, voice gateways, SBCs, dial plans, route patterns, calling search spaces, device pools, media resources, and codec/region configurations.
  • Integrate telecom carriers with contact-center platforms, managing carrier migrations, number-porting activities, and inbound/outbound toll-free and DID services.
  • Troubleshoot complex voice issues, including one-way/no-way audio, SIP signaling failures, jitter, latency, packet loss, codec mismatches, DTMF issues, and call setup failures.
  • Analyze SIP traces and call flows to identify and resolve root causes of production incidents.
  • Support CVP and ICM voice integrations while implementing redundancy, failover, and disaster-recovery configurations.
  • Collaborate closely with network engineering teams to define and manage QoS, WAN, and firewall requirements.
  • Maintain voice-monitoring and observability capabilities, and support contact-center capacity planning and concurrent-call forecasting.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience configuring and maintaining Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE), and voice gateways.
  • Deep technical understanding of SIP, RTP, PSTN, and Dial plans.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols and concepts, including QoS, DNS, TCP/IP, and TLS/SRTP.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting and packet-analysis tools, such as Wireshark or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Cisco UCCE, Cisco CVP, Cisco Finesse, and Webex.
  • Familiarity with Session Border Controller (SBC) technologies and cloud telephony.
  • Experience with contact-center migrations and designing multi-region, high-availability architectures.
  • Proficiency in automating repetitive configuration and operational activities using Python or REST APIs.

Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available to qualified candidates who meet eligibility requirements.
