Python Application Developer
Software Engineering
Remote
This role develops Python-based data processing workflows, calculations, and visualization generation services that transform approved source data into dashboard-ready datasets, charts, graphs, tables, and derived analytical outputs. The developer collaborates closely with the Solution Architect, Data Engineer, UI/Application Developer, and business SMEs to ensure analytics outputs are accurate, performant, and aligned with acceptance criteria. The resulting services and artifacts are integrated into a GCP-hosted application platform for production use.
Key Responsibilities
· Design and develop Python-based processing services that query approved data sources and generate dashboard-ready analytical datasets.
· Implement transformation logic, validation rules, business calculations, and derived metrics required for the defined workflow.
· Develop reusable Python modules and APIs that support visualization, graph, and reporting generation for various datasets.
· Build automated charting and analytical output generation capabilities that integrate with the front-end application.
· Optimize processing performance, scalability, and maintainability for deployment within a GCP-hosted environment.
· Collaborate with the Application Developer to integrate Python services with dashboard user interfaces and workflow components.
· Support benchmark validation activities by comparing system-generated outputs against analyst-prepared benchmark results and resolving discrepancies.
· Develop unit tests, automated validation routines, and data quality checks to ensure reliable outputs.
· Create technical documentation, deployment guides, architecture documentation, and knowledge transfer materials.
· Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, troubleshooting, and milestone demonstrations.
Required Skills
· Advanced Python development experience.
· Experience with data analytics libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and visualization frameworks (Plotly, Matplotlib, Seaborn, or similar).
· Experience developing APIs and backend services using FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
· Experience with SQL and data transformation pipelines.
· Experience deploying applications and services within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
· Experience working with large analytical datasets and performance optimization.
· Familiarity with source control, CI/CD practices, testing frameworks, and Agile delivery methodologies.
· Looking for ~7-10 years of relevant experience
