Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer with experience in cloud-native application development, API engineering, microservices, and AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, deploying, and operating scalable backend services while contributing to architecture decisions, service reliability, and production support.

Candidates with experience in Ontology Modeling, Knowledge Graphs, Semantic Technologies, and AI/LLM-based solutions are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support cloud-native backend services, APIs, and integration solutions.
• Build and maintain business logic, orchestration services, domain services, and event-driven architectures.
• Develop integrations with enterprise platforms, third-party applications, AI services, and data systems.
• Leverage AI coding assistants and engineering copilots to improve development efficiency while maintaining code quality.
• Create and maintain automated unit, integration, regression, contract, and performance tests.
• Contribute to API standards, reusable frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and reliability practices.
• Ensure production readiness through monitoring, alerting, incident response, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Analysts, Architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience using one or more of the following:
• Java

• TypeScript
• Experience with:
• API-first development
• RESTful services
• Microservices architecture
• Service orchestration
• Distributed systems
• Event-driven architecture
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Knowledge of containers, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, automated deployments, and secrets management.
• Experience supporting production systems, observability, monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
• Understanding of software engineering best practices, testing frameworks, and secure coding principles.

Preferred Qualifications

Ontology & Semantic Technologies

• Design and maintain ontologies, taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, semantic models, and concept relationships.
• Develop and manage knowledge graphs, metadata frameworks, and semantic relationships between business entities.
• Experience with RDF, OWL, SPARQL, Graph Databases, or related semantic technologies.

AI & Generative AI

• Experience building Generative AI and LLM-powered applications.
• Design Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
• Develop AI agent orchestration workflows and evaluation frameworks.
• Prompt engineering and AI solution architecture.
• Experience with vector databases and semantic search technologies.

Data & Platform Engineering

• Knowledge of data integration patterns and enterprise-scale system integrations.
• Experience using ML/AI frameworks and modern AI development ecosystems.
• Familiarity with scalable backend architectures supporting AI-driven applications.
