Position Summary
The Director, Patient Access leads the strategy, business development, and execution of patient access solutions for direct-to-patient pharmaceutical offerings. This role partners directly with pharmaceutical manufacturers to identify market challenges, develop tailored access strategies, and manage end-to-end sales processes—from lead generation through contract execution. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in drug commercialization, hub services, copay programs, and emerging digital health technologies to drive new account acquisition and scale existing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Lead strategic patient access initiatives supporting both early-stage development and commercialized pharmaceutical products.
Business Development & Account Growth: Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of pharmaceutical manufacturer accounts, secure new client logos, and expand existing partnerships through executive-level relationship management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including Marketing, to craft targeted messaging, support product launches, and ensure client strategies are delivered on time and within budget.
Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes across retail pharmacy, Medicaid/Medicare, and employee benefits to inform commercial strategy.
Brand Representation: Serve as a subject matter expert and represent the organization at key industry events, conferences, and panel discussions.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
6+ years of total experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
5+ years of dedicated experience in pharma patient access, copay assistance programs, or hub services.
Proven track record of sourcing, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Strong knowledge of the drug commercialization lifecycle, manufacturer sales environments, and the pharmacy benefits landscape.
Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree (MPH, MHA, MS) or MBA.
