Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior QA Lead to drive quality assurance initiatives across enterprise data platforms and analytics solutions. This role is heavily focused on back-end testing, data validation, ETL/ELT testing, business rule validation, and data quality assurance across Snowflake, Databricks, and Azure Data Services.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience validating complex data transformations, ensuring data integrity, and leading QA efforts for modern cloud-based data platforms. This individual will work closely with Data Engineers, Architects, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to ensure high-quality, reliable, and scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead QA activities for Data Engineering and Analytics projects.

• Design and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for data pipelines and data platforms.

• Validate data transformations, aggregations, calculations, and business rules across Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).

• Perform end-to-end ETL/ELT testing, including source-to-target reconciliation and data validation.

• Validate data across bronze, silver, and gold layers within Medallion Architecture.

• Conduct data quality testing, including:

o Null validation

o Duplicate checks

o Row count validation

o Data reconciliation

o Referential integrity checks

o Data freshness validation

o Business rule validation

• Develop and implement reusable automation frameworks for data testing and validation.

• Create and execute SQL-based test cases to validate large datasets and complex business logic.

• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Architects to define quality standards and acceptance criteria.

• Perform root cause analysis and support defect resolution activities.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and lead QA planning, execution, and reporting.

• Mentor QA team members and promote QA best practices across projects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

• 7+ years of experience in QA, Data Warehouse Testing, ETL Testing, or Data Quality Validation.

• Strong experience with:

o Snowflake

o Databricks

o Azure Data Factory (ADF)

o Azure Data Lake

o SQL

• Extensive experience in Data Warehouse and ETL/ELT testing.

• Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture and modern data platforms.

• Expertise in source-to-target mapping validation and data reconciliation testing.

• Experience validating complex business rules and data transformations.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience leading QA teams and coordinating testing activities across projects.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Python and PyTest automation experience.

• Experience with Snowflake Data Quality Monitoring and Data Metric Functions (DMFs).

• Exposure to Power BI or reporting validation.

• Knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality frameworks.

• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.

• Experience developing data quality dashboards and monitoring solutions.

• Basic exposure to Selenium or UI testing is a plus but not required.
