We are seeking a Senior GNC Software Engineer to develop guidance, navigation, and control software for advanced autonomous systems. This role sits at the intersection of software, sensors, controls, and real-world vehicle performance.
The ideal candidate has strong software engineering fundamentals, experience developing GNC algorithms, and exposure to the sensors and data-acquisition systems used to collect vehicle data and inform GNC software.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
● Develop and integrate guidance, navigation, and control software for autonomous systems.
● Interface with and process data from sensors including IMUs, GPS/GNSS, cameras, LiDAR, radar, magnetometers, and other vehicle sensors.
● Develop algorithms for state estimation, sensor fusion, navigation, guidance, and control.
● Analyze sensor and vehicle data to improve system performance and troubleshoot issues.
● Develop and test GNC software in simulation and on real hardware.
● Support SIL/HIL, ground, and flight testing and analyze test results.
● Work closely with embedded, systems, electrical, mechanical, and test engineers to integrate software with vehicle hardware.
● Take algorithms from development and simulation through hardware integration and field/flight testing.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Controls, or related field.
● 5+ years of relevant experience in GNC, controls, robotics, autonomous systems, or software engineering.
● Strong programming experience in C++, Python, or similar languages.
● Experience developing GNC, controls, navigation, estimation, or autonomy software.
● Experience working with real-world sensor data and sensor interfaces.
● Understanding of state estimation, sensor fusion, coordinate frames, and dynamic systems.
● Experience working with embedded or real-time systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Experience with UAS, aircraft, missiles, spacecraft, autonomous vehicles, or robotics.
● Experience with EKF/UKF, inertial navigation, sensor fusion, or nonlinear estimation.
● Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, ROS/ROS2, or similar tools.
● Experience with HIL/SIL testing and flight/vehicle telemetry.
● Defense or aerospace industry experience.
● Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
