About the job

  • As a Scrum Master, you will lead agile teams through critical legacy data warehouse decommissioning and cloud modernization initiatives.

You will guide teams through complex transitions from legacy systems to modern, cloud-based data platforms, ensuring that agile best practices are adopted and maintained. You will play a vital role in fostering team self-organization, removing blockers, and bridging the gap between technical execution and business strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all core Scrum ceremonies, ensuring they are engaging, focused, and productive.
  • Coach and mentor teams on agile principles and self-organization, proactively identifying and removing impediments to project delivery.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities required for migrating legacy systems to modern cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Manage complex dependencies between decommissioning activities and downstream systems to ensure zero business disruption.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between development teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals.
  • Track, analyze, and communicate team velocity, sprint metrics, and overall project progress to leadership.
  • Champion continuous process improvements and implement scalable agile best practices.
  • Support comprehensive risk identification, analysis, and mitigation strategies specific to legacy system retirement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
  • 3 years of experience working on cloud migration or modernization projects.
  • Experience managing data warehouse decommissioning or legacy system migrations.
  • Proven experience facilitating standard Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical understanding of legacy data warehousing (e.g., Teradata) and SQL.
  • Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native data services.
  • Knowledge of modern data platforms (such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift).
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data migration methodologies.
  • Strong background in change management, dependency management, and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to serve as an effective liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
