Position: Technical Project Manager / Scrum Master

Location: REMOTE with 10-25% travel to mid west

Duration Contract to hire

What You Will Do:

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects across data, analytics, system implementation and integration workstreams.

• Serve as a Technical Project Manager and Scrum Master, driving delivery while fostering Agile principles, team accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Partner with client stakeholders, product owners, technical teams, and leadership to align priorities, scope, timelines, milestones, and expected outcomes.

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Partner with Product Owners and technical leads to maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensure stories are delivery-ready, and support effective sprint planning.

• Monitor sprint and project execution, proactively identifying and removing impediments that may impact team delivery.

• Identify, track, and mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints across multiple technical workstreams.

• Track project and Agile delivery metrics, including milestones, sprint progress, velocity, capacity, risks, budget, and resource utilization, and communicate insights to stakeholders.

• Translate business objectives and requirements into actionable plans, user stories, technical requirements, and delivery priorities in partnership with business and technical teams.

• Drive stakeholder engagement through clear project status updates, executive briefings, dashboards, and performance reporting.

• Facilitate collaboration and decision-making across developers, data engineers, analysts, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional team members.

• Promote Agile best practices and continuous improvement, helping teams improve delivery predictability, collaboration, and overall effectiveness.

• Ensure adherence to project governance, compliance, documentation, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support change management activities, including stakeholder readiness, user adoption, training coordination, and transition planning.

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor's degree

• Seven (7) or more years of experience managing technical projects and/or leading Agile delivery teams in a consulting, government, or enterprise environment

• Experience serving as a Technical Project Manager, Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, or similar role supporting cross-functional technical teams.

• Experience leading teams that include developers, data engineers, architects, analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders.

• Proven ability to manage complex technical initiatives involving data platforms, system integrations, analytics solutions, or enterprise technology implementations.

• Hands-on experience with Jira for sprint planning, backlog management, issue tracking, dashboards, and workflow coordination.

• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum principles, practices, and ceremonies, as well as familiarity with Waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches.

• Experience identifying and removing delivery blockers and managing risks, issues, dependencies, and competing priorities.

• Experience tracking project budgets, resource capacity, delivery milestones, and forecasts.

• Ability to use project and Agile delivery metrics to assess progress, identify delivery risks, and support continuous improvement.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

• Strong facilitation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior and executive stakeholders.

• Ability to work onsite in a client environment as required.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), PMI-ACP, SAFe Scrum Master, or other relevant project management or Agile certification (preferred)

• Experience supporting utility or energy-sector clients (preferred)

• Experience supporting data modernization, cloud migration, enterprise system implementation, or digital transformation initiatives.

• Experience working in a consulting environment and managing delivery across multiple client and internal stakeholder groups.
