Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Delta)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Delta) to serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, deploying, and scaling enterprise-grade solutions on the Palantir Foundry platform. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, software development, solution architecture, and stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Palantir Foundry and a strong track record of delivering complex data and analytics solutions in enterprise environments. This individual will act as a trusted technical advisor, owning solution architecture, application development, deployment strategy, and technical leadership while helping organizations maximize the value of their data platforms.

As a hands-on engineer, you will drive the end-to-end implementation of Foundry solutions, mentor engineering teams, and help shape technical strategy across critical business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Solution Architecture

• Design, build, and deploy end-to-end data integration pipelines within Palantir Foundry.
• Develop and maintain scalable data transformations, incremental pipelines, and multi-source integrations.
• Architect and manage Foundry Ontology components, including Object Types, Link Types, Action Types, Interfaces, and Functions.
• Build and optimize Python, SQL, and Java-based transformations using frameworks such as PySpark, Pandas, Polars, and DuckDB.
• Develop TypeScript and Python Functions to support business logic, workflow automation, and application functionality.
• Design and deploy operational applications using Workshop, OSDK-based applications, and custom UI components.
• Implement enterprise-grade data governance frameworks, including permissions, restricted views, security controls, and role-based access management.
• Design and implement AI-powered workflows using AIP Logic, AIP Agents, evaluation frameworks, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.

Customer Engagement & Delivery Leadership

• Serve as the primary technical advisor to business and executive stakeholders.
• Translate complex business challenges into scalable platform solutions.
• Own project delivery from requirements gathering through deployment and operationalization.
• Drive adoption by delivering high-quality, production-ready solutions that create measurable business value.
• Build relationships across executive, technical, and operational teams.
• Identify opportunities to expand platform capabilities and unlock new business use cases.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to Forward Deployed Engineers and project teams.
• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
• Establish engineering best practices for development lifecycle management, testing, CI/CD, and deployment methodologies.
• Lead internal training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives related to Foundry capabilities and best practices.
• Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, tooling improvements, and cross-functional collaboration efforts.

Platform Innovation

• Stay current on evolving Palantir Foundry capabilities, including:
• Pipeline Builder
• Code Workspaces
• Model Studio
• OSDK
• Cipher
• Streaming Data Services
• Build and deploy machine learning solutions using both no-code and pro-code development approaches.
• Support the full Foundry ecosystem from data ingestion and transformation through ontology modeling, applications, actions, and writeback workflows.
• Collaborate with platform stakeholders and engineering teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, solutions architecture, or technical consulting.
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on Palantir Foundry experience.
• Strong proficiency in:
• Python (PySpark, Pandas, Polars)
• SQL
• Experience with TypeScript is highly preferred.
• Deep expertise in Palantir Foundry Ontology design, including:
• Object Types
• Link Types
• Action Types
• Interfaces
• Functions
• Proven experience building and deploying enterprise-scale batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Experience developing Workshop applications and/or OSDK-based applications.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives independently and provide architectural direction.
