As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead teams in AI-focused workflows across the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). You will work at the intersection of cutting-edge AI technology and complex financial domains, building intelligent systems that directly impact millions of people’s financial and retirement security.
Responsibilities
· Program Leadership: Design and lead large-scale software development programs, acting as an Architect or people leader to drive digital transformation projects.
· Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Product Owners and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into viable, technical working solutions.
· AI Integration & SDLC Optimization: Lead the integration of Generative AI coding assistants (such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code) across daily engineering workflows, including implementation, refactoring, unit testing, regression support, code reviews, scripting, and troubleshooting.
· Workflow Modernization: Establish team-level practices for effective AI-assisted development. Utilize agentic workflows, spec-driven development (translating class structures, API contracts, and data models into AI-guiding specs), custom instructions, and prompt engineering.
· Execution & Communication: Foster a collaborative mindset with a bias for action. Effectively engage and lead fellow developers, architects, and adjacent teams to ensure high-quality delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
· 10+ years of professional software engineering experience actively developing large-scale software using Java, Spring framework, cloud development, and Web Services to support high-volume transactions in a highly available environment.
· 6+ years of experience working with containers and microservices in the cloud.
· 6+ years of experience in cloud deployment utilizing a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) model.
· 2+ years of hands-on experience with AI/ML implementation and production deployment, including direct experience with Large Language Models (e.g., GPT, Claude, Gemini, PaLM).
· 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), AWS, or GCP.
· 2+ years of experience working with databases such as MongoDB, Aerospike, and/or PostgreSQL.
· 2+ years of experience in IT transformations and system modernization initiatives, specifically migrating from legacy environments (e.g., Mainframe Cobol apps/DB2) to distributed platforms (e.g., Java apps/SQL or MongoDB).
· Demonstrated experience using AI assistance to reduce context switching and accelerate delivery with clear ownership for correctness and code quality.
· Understanding of broker-dealer capabilities, financial operations, or complex trading systems.
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
· Domain experience within the Financial Services industry.
· Strong knowledge of messaging technologies (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, or equivalent).
· Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD), QA Automation, and a demonstrated quality-first mindset.
· Proficiency in developing architectural and design documentation, functional and technical specifications, and automated test processes (e.g., using Visio or similar tools).
· Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment using the Atlassian tool stack (JIRA and Confluence).
· Strong ability to research and accurately document production and test environments, as well as architecture and design work.
· A strong willingness to continuously learn and document all aspects of the modern tech stack.
