About the Role
Our client is seeking an UX Specialist / Experience Systems Specialist to help protect and scale the integrity of the experience system. This role focuses on ensuring reusable templates, structured content, accessibility standards, and implementation quality remain aligned as digital experiences evolve.
This is not a traditional UX or product design role. The ideal candidate brings expertise in experience systems, accessibility validation, template governance, design QA, and design-to-development collaboration. You will serve as a key liaison between Experience Design, Front-End Engineering, Content, and the Enterprise Design System team.
Key Responsibilities
Accessibility & Experience Validation
- Apply and validate WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards across experiences.
- Conduct pre-launch accessibility reviews and production-level validation.
- Create accessibility annotations for templates, components, and interaction states.
- Identify accessibility gaps and escalate issues to the Enterprise Design System team.
- Ensure accessibility standards are applied correctly across reusable templates and experiences.
Design-to-Development Collaboration
- Ensure template and interaction designs are accurately implemented in production.
- Partner with Front-End Engineering to communicate requirements, edge cases, and interaction states.
- Review completed implementations against established experience system standards.
- Develop clear specifications that support successful engineering delivery.
Experience System Governance
- Help maintain scalable template architecture and component specifications.
- Stress-test templates against dynamic and edge-case content scenarios.
- Validate structured content against template requirements.
- Identify recurring inconsistencies and recommend system-level improvements.
- Ensure consistent application of templates, components, and design tokens.
Content Model & AI Readiness
- Collaborate with Design and Content teams to validate structured content models.
- Support CMS authoring validation and governance.
- Evaluate templates and content structures for AI readiness and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
- Identify risks created by AI-assisted publishing and content flexibility.
Design System Partnership
- Serve as the primary liaison between the .com team, Enterprise Design System team, and Front-End Engineering.
- Translate experience requirements into design system contribution requests.
- Ensure design system updates are correctly implemented across web experiences.
- Communicate the impact of design system changes to stakeholders.
- Escalate cross-system conflicts when appropriate.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 4-6 years of experience in UX Design, Product Design, Design Systems, Design QA, or related disciplines.
- Experience with template systems, design-to-development handoffs, and accessibility validation.
- Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards and accessibility best practices.
- Understanding of experience systems, reusable page models, component libraries, and design tokens.
- Experience working with structured content models and CMS-driven experiences.
- Proven ability to collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Content teams.

Tools & Technologies
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including:
- Component Libraries
- Auto-Layout
- Annotation Workflows
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS (coding not required).
- Experience with accessibility testing tools such as:
- axe
- Colour Contrast Analyser
- Screen Readers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale design systems.
- Experience evaluating AI-ready content structures and digital experiences.
- Background working with accessibility testing in production environments.
