Role Summary
The ADMS Operations Readiness & Vendor/Defect Management Lead is a senior delivery role responsible for operational readiness and defect/vendor governance of large-scale ADMS deployments. This includes cutover readiness, organizational change management, training, defect lifecycle ownership, and vendor liaison across a multi-vendor ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Readiness & Cutover
Lead end-to-end readiness planning for ADMS deployments (cutover, day-one support, hypercare).
Define and execute frameworks for training, business process redesign, organizational change management, and technology adoption.
Develop readiness checklists, RACI matrices, and go-live scorecards.
Oversee role-specific training for dispatchers, operators, engineers, and field technicians.
Conduct simulation exercises, tabletop drills, and mock go-live events.
Support post go-live stabilization and transition to BAU operations.
Defect Lifecycle Management
Own and manage defect lifecycle (intake, triage, classification, prioritization, resolution, closure).
Establish governance standards (severity, priority, SLA adherence, escalation paths, metrics reporting).
Chair defect triage meetings with vendors and technical teams.
Maintain defect tracking in Jira, HP ALM, Azure DevOps, or ServiceNow.
Produce executive-level dashboards and reports.
Analyze defect trends to identify systemic root causes.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
Serve as liaison between utility client, ADMS vendors, system integrators, and delivery teams.
Manage vendor obligations (bug fixes, patch delivery, production support SLAs).
Partner with stakeholders in Distribution Operations, Grid Operations, IT/OT, and Engineering.
Coordinate test environment issues with infrastructure teams.
Manage stakeholder communications and executive reporting.
Support go/no-go readiness assessments with clear, data-driven reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
8–12 years in utilities consulting, utility operations, IT/OT delivery, systems integration, or program management.
Direct exposure to ADMS, DMS, OMS, or SCADA systems.
Experience in operational readiness, organizational change management, or cutover planning.
Proven defect lifecycle and vendor escalation management.
Deep understanding of electric distribution utility operations.
Strong knowledge of ADMS architecture, data models, and integration touchpoints (GIS, EMS, CIS, AMI, SCADA).
Experience with patch management and SLA enforcement.
Ability to manage cross-functional teams in complex environments.
Proficiency with defect tracking tools (Jira, HP ALM, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow).
Strong client-facing, analytical, and communication skills.
