Position: Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the development and maintenance of system architecture models and integration plans for advanced Radio Frequency (RF) systems. This role will be responsible for creating, managing, and evolving SysML-based models, ensuring alignment between requirements, architecture, integration, verification, and testing activities.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with systems engineers, integration & test teams, and product stakeholders to develop scalable architectures and support digital engineering initiatives across current and next-generation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and maintain requirements and architecture models for current and future RF system capabilities.
• Create and maintain SysML artifacts, including:
• Block Definition Diagrams (BDDs)
• Internal Block Diagrams (IBDs)
• Use Case Diagrams
• Activity Diagrams
• Functional Architecture Views
• State Diagrams and Operational Modes
• Support the development and maintenance of Functional Integration Plans (FIPs).
• Collaborate with systems, integration, test, and product teams to ensure architecture models accurately reflect system functionality and design intent.
• Develop modeling standards, reusable model frameworks, and MBSE starter kits for engineering teams.
• Create and maintain training material and best practices for Cameo Systems Modeler users.
• Establish traceability between requirements, architecture models, verification artifacts, and test results.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to align requirements, models, and work management tools such as Cameo, JIRA, and requirements repositories.
• Support requirements verification, validation, and metrics reporting.
• Ensure architecture models remain current, accurate, and aligned with evolving program objectives.
• Participate in technical reviews, design assessments, and architecture trade studies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, and architecture development.
• Minimum 3 years of experience developing physical architectures using:
• Block Definition Diagrams (BDDs)
• Internal Block Diagrams (IBDs)
• Experience generating system requirements and decomposing them into derived requirements and specifications.
• Experience applying Open Systems Architecture (OSA) principles within systems engineering environments.
• Experience defining system functionality, operational concepts, modes of operation, and state behavior.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering processes and lifecycle methodologies.
• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into executable system architectures and model-based solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams to derive and decompose complex system requirements.
• Exposure to digital engineering ecosystems, including MBSE and digital twin environments.
• Experience with system-of-systems architecture and model-based design methodologies.
• Familiarity with operational modelling tools and formal verification processes.
• Knowledge of Verification Cross-Reference Matrices (VCRM) and requirements traceability practices.
• Experience integrating requirements and architecture data across engineering repositories and collaboration tools.
• Understanding of RF systems, signal processing, sensors, or related defense/aerospace technologies.
